Campinas Decor 2009

Sustainability in architecture is already a reality and everyone recognizes the importance of a project that collaborates with the preservation of the environment. However, the architect Aquiles Nícolas Kílaris went further; and proposed sustainability in architectural designs and interior design, recreating and reproducing the tranquility found in nature within a closed environment. This new concept was applied during Campinas Decor 2009, held at the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas. The architect developed the 30-square-meter Family Room environment and portrayed the idea of bringing the family together under the shade of a tree. To create this atmosphere, a large leaf was styled on the ceiling. Green walls and paintings with natural plants replaced the canvases painted by plastic artists. The green color and pastel tone used on the walls and furniture helped to compose the idea of a grove or forest. In contrast to nature, the environment became rich in automation. A system with a digital panel that controls the entire space was specially developed for him. A mobile panel hides the TV when it is not being used.
